Pastor Ted Boggs
Senior Pastor
Ted experienced a definitive calling to preach and teach at a young age, delivering his first sermons at age 12 under the guidance of his childhood pastor. A few years went by, and he wanted to go to Bible college, but it never panned out.
Ted eventually joined the United States Air Force where he proudly served for 7 years in the USAF hospital pharmacy. After receiving an Honorable Discharge, he had a few different jobs and eventually ended up at the company he works for now called Syniverse.
He has been with Syniverse for 15 years serving in various roles. He currently holds a Senior Director position in the company. He has been able to travel to Costa Rica, Mexico, Spain, Ireland, England, Scotland, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Dubai, and India. In all his travels he has seen and met many people and the needs of those people.
Pastor Ted's heart has always been about helping others. He has volunteered at Feeding Tampa Bay and other charities to help the less fortunate. At one point he thought he was supposed to be a college professor to help the next generation. He recognizes now that God was closing those secular doors to return him to his lifelong pastoral calling.
This calling brought him and his wife to East Tennessee about two years ago where he served in various ministries. Those ministries include associate pastor work (loving the people, sermons and Bible studies) at Carter Christian, as well as Senior Ministry Leader and Men's Widower Ministry Leader at Boones Creek Christian Church.
Pastor Ted is currently working to finish his Christian Studies at Johnson University. Before he went to Johnson University, he completed his Doctor of Business Administration in International Business and Leadership. He also holds certifications in Business Development, Lean Six Sigma, and Change Management including organizational change management.
Ted and Teresa currently reside in Greeneville and are proud parents of four grown children and two grandchildren. Their hobbies include traveling, hiking, working around the house, and hanging out with their two beloved dogs. Their mission is to follow God's Will, and to love the people of Ottway Community Church and the Ottway Community.
